PROMPTS FOR NOVEMBER
Your Story must include someone packing a suitcase
Your story must include the phase ‘Across a crowded Room’
Your story must include the words CHARM, CRUSH and FAINT
AS ALWAYS THERE’S A 500 WORD LIMIT.
Most people who read these prompts think contemporary romance, but if you’ve been following me for a while you’ve probably figured out that’s not exactly how my mind works. So while there is romance in the short I came up with there’s also assassins, explosions, action and suspense.

Crush
Mel rushed upstairs to her bedroom. She was so excited so could barely contain her glee. Throwing open her wardrobe, she yanked out her suitcase and immediately starting packing. As she threw clothes into her suitcase she thought about the first time that she saw him. It had been across a crowded room. She’d been separated for less than a month and been so bitter that she’d firmly believed that she would never love anyone ever again. But just from that first look, she’d developed an instant crush. Actually it had been more of an obsession. Mel had never thought that he would feel the same way she did. At first they'd just been colleagues, but during the course of their first operation they’d become more. He’d been so charming she just couldn’t resist him. Their first kiss was so intense it had made her feel faint and from then point on, the rest was history.
“Babe, we have to go.” Cedric yelled running into the bedroom. “The perimeter alarm has been tripped. Got everything that can identify us.”
“Yep.” Mel slammed the suitcase shut and hastily locked it. Cedric squeezed past her and keyed in the code for their secret escape tunnel. “How many cops?” Mel asked as Cedric grabbed the suitcase off her and pushed her into the tunnel. “Be more gentle with me would you? I require a delicate touch.”
Cedric hit the button that would close and lock the tunnel and arm the explosives around the house. Then he grabbed his girl around the waist and hauled her further into the tunnel pushing her up against the wall, kissing her roughly. “We both know that you’re no delicate little flower. I’ve seen you kill a guy three times your size, with nothing but a knife.”
Mel grinned and raised herself up on to her toes, sliding her hands around his neck. “And if I remember correctly that made you so horny we barely made it away before the cops busted us you were so desperate to have me.”
“Seeing you cut that guy up was the sexist thing I’ve ever seen.” Cedric grinned waggling his eyebrows.
“Aren’t you charming.” Mel laughed. Cedric kissed her again quickly, before they set off at a fast run through the tunnel that would lead them to their waiting escape vehicle. Just as they were exiting the tunnel, the explosives triggered, engulfing the house in a massive explosion. She really had gotten lucky to find someone who was like her. Ordinary people didn’t understand the life of an assassin, she wished she‘d have met Cedric years ago, but they were together now and neither of them were ever going to waste precious time again.
