She Looked Damn Good Naked
A SNEAK PEEK INTO REUNITED A PARANORMAL SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE NOVELLA.

"You know I have to say, the view is even better than I remember."
Em stopped in her tracks as her hand reached for the tap to adjust the water. She had to be hearing things, she knew that voice and she knew for a fact that there was no way that the owner of that voice was in the room with her. But still she looked up, looking through at the bathroom behind her through the reflection of the mirror. She thought that she might be imaging things, but when she spun around, he was still there. Like actually there in person, she could feel him. His presence resonating in her blood, pounding through their bond. No fucking way.
"You." Em was astounded, but her surprise rapidly morphed into anger. Misplaced anger, but given that her husband and mate had just disappeared fifteen years ago and she hadn't seen or heard from him since, the fact that he was just suddenly here, really here, was sending her emotions in overdrive. So she settled on what she'd felt for the majority of the last decade, anger. She'd spent the almost the last fifteen years dealing with Amos's absence and now he was what? Just back? Because it wasn't that simple. Not by a fucking long shot.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing here, Amos?" And how dare he look that damn good. It was just fucking insulting. Six foot two, with broad shoulders and deep olive complexion. His black hair with sapphire highlights was slightly longer and scruffier than she remembered, but she didn't hate the new look. Just like she didn't hate the slight black stubble covering his jaw. His body was still as perfect as she remembered, all muscled and lean and just making her body respond way too quickly, with lust coursing through her. Talk about annoying. Em may be mad she had to admit, the way that Amos was rocking those jeans and that skin tight shirt was really working for her.
Damnit, that had not been where she expected that train of thought to go, especially not so quickly. In her defence though it wasn't her fault, she'd always had that instant sexual reaction to him. It's part of why Amos had been able to convince her to get married so quickly when they'd started dating. Everything between them was just fierce and primal. And right now that pissed her off.
But it wasn't just her, because while Em had been shamelessly checking out her husband and hoping to find some deficiency, which she hadn't obviously, Amos had been checking her out too. His brown eyes with red and blue flecks focused on her, trailing over her body and reawakening a familiar prickling awareness surging through her blood. Which she knew was reflected in him because of the way his eyes heated and the red and blue in his eyes glowed. Not good, that look always led to sex, which is why she defaulted to bitchy instead.
"You look old and haggard." Em snapped in her best angry snobby voice. It was a total lie of course. He looked gorgeous, especially with the way those jeans hugged his ass, which she could see courtesy of the mirror over the sink behind him. Not to mention the tight long sleeve tee that clung to his arms, those shoulders. Damn her hormones, they were driving her insane. On the bright side, since he was back, she'd be able to fuck him soon. The only problem was pushing her anger back long enough to get them both naked.
"Hello, darling, I've missed you too." Amos smiled softly. It was good to see his mate again, it had been way too long. Em's eyes snapped back up to his face the minute he spoke, before that she'd been checking him out, again for about the third time in the last two minutes. Eye fucking him would actually be a more appropriate description of the way she'd been looking at him and from the way that her nipples pebbled, she'd liked what she saw.
Amos had to admit he wasn't expecting the first time he saw his mate in almost fifteen years for her to be naked when he did, but he wasn't complaining. She looked even more incredible than he remembered, which he honestly hadn't even thought was possible. Her hands were propped on her hips and she was even glaring at him, which he personally thought was adorable. Em was great at being mad and holding a grudge, but it never took him long to get her past her anger. She had a weakness when it came to him and he was always extremely happy to exploit it. Though she was usually bitchy for a few minutes until she completely melted under his touch. He'd always rather liked her bite.
Amos grinned wickedly as he walked over to her. She didn't move or back away from him, but then his mate was no coward. She was strong and brave and that's part of what had first attracted him to her. He couldn't help but admire Em, she looked so fucking beautiful and he was so damn happy to just be back in the same space as her. It soothed both him and his demon soul in a way that nothing else ever could, not even being around his children and he loved his kids. But as always admiring his wife immediately led to lust, which triggered his hunger. Starvation, might actually be a better word. He hadn't fed in well over a decade and his mate was right there and very naked. Her hair tumbling down over her shoulders and when he got closer to her and she crossed her arms over her chest, it pushed her breasts up, practically making him want to beg just to get his mouth on her perfect tits.
Amos stopped in front of Em, immediately reaching for her. The edge of his fingers had barely touched her skin when he went flying backwards. He slammed into the wall across from Em a second later, tile cracking under his back. He'd like to say that his wife tossing him across a room upon finally seeing him again was unexpected, but it wasn't. She had such a fiery temper. It was also something that he found extremely hot and yes he knew that was weird as fuck. Sue him, he'd been alive a really long time and learned to embrace his weirdness.
Amos got to his feet and didn't even bother to hide the grin that was tugging at the edge of his lips. "Certainly not the welcome I was expecting, but also, not entirely unexpected." He saw her lip twitch in an almost smile, before Em shoved it down and he smiled wider. Amos knew that Em would be mad but they'd get past it. Neither of them could stay mad at each other for long. But she was still going to make him work for her forgiveness. He wouldn't have it any other way.
